His family and friends appreciate the outpouring of prayers, love, and expressions of concern everyone has shown for Tim. Throughout his treatments, a close friend of Tim's, Jimmy Adams, came to the family with the idea of a benefit concert. Lindsay Patten, immediately jumped on board to help make this event a reality. This special event is an awesome way for people to celebrate and give God the glory for His aboundless love and strength through tough times like this.

The Patten family wanted to reach out to people with the same overwhelming support they have recieved from school, church and friends. All of the Patten kids attended Lake Worth Christian School, so the family felt that this event would best serve the communtiy if "COME TOGETHER" would also benefit another family going through what they are experiencing.

Mr. Ken Miller, teacher at Lake Worth Christian, who has been fighting a battle with Leukemia and through it all has been a great testament of faith to not only the Patten family, but all the students at the school.

Ken and Janie Miller and their beautiful boys, Ethan and Kyle.

Ken Miller has been a science teacher at Lake Worth Christian since January 2003. Upon joining the LWCS family, Ken truly found his calling. He is dedicated to teaching science from a Christ centered perspective and loves his fellow teachers and students.

Ken and Janie have been married for 15 years and have two amazing sons, Ethan six and Kyle, three and a half years old. Ken is loved deeply.

At the end of February 2009, the Miller family received crushing news that Ken was diagnosed with AML. He was immediately admitted to a local hospital to undergo induction chemotherapy which required him to be hospitalized for over a month. Thankfully at the end of his first treatment, he was in remission.

Based on his type of leukemia and his counts at diagnosis, the Miller's were advised that their best hope of beating the disease was a bone marrow transplant. Following this advice, they went to the Moffitt Cancer Care Center to start the process by having Ken HLA typed to find a donor.

At the end of May 2009, they received news that Ken was no longer in remission and that he had to undergo another induction chemo regimen. Ken continued to be strong and the chemo did it's job getting him into second remission.

A month later they received amazing news that a perfect match was found for Ken and a transplant could be done. Ken underwent another round of chemo and then had the transplant on August 8, 2009. Ken remained in Tampa away from his boys and wife for 3 months. Throughout the process Ken relied on the Lord to get him through the grueling recovery.

Ken returned home on November 8th to his family. The Miller family was overjoyed to be together and everyone was smiling again!

On January 26, 2010 during Ken's 6th month post-transplant check-up, the Miller's were told that Ken's leukemia had returned. The doctors quickly prescribed another type of chemo which was finished on February 10th. On February 18th, they visited Moffitt for another bone marrow biopsy to see if the chemo had done it's job. Unforturnately, based on blood tests, it appears that it has not. They are now waiting to see where they go from here...

As Jerry Bridges describes in his book, "Trusting God," he says, "In the arena of adversity, the Scriptures teach us three essential truths about God--truths we must believe if we are to trust Him in adversity.

THEY ARE:

1. God is completely sovereign.

2. God is infinite in wisdom.

3. God is perfect in love.

Someone has expressed these three truths as they relate to us in this way: God in His love always wills what is best for us. In His wisdom, he always knows what is best, and in His sovereignty He has the power to bring it about."

Let us . . . "COME TOGETHER" . . . first in prayer to pray for both Mr. Miller and Tim Patten, and also to honor these two brave men, for a special event.

Here are the Christian artists who will be sharing their time and talent in their honor, NATHAN TAYLOR (nugenworship.com), local worship leader, JOSHUA BRAMOS and his band (www.youtube.com/joshbramos) and the headliner for the event, local sensation, singer, songwriter, DAVID QUILES and his CITY OF DAVID rock band! (myspace.com/cityofdavid).

We will be collecting a love offering. There will also be food and drinks available for purchase including the new DNA Energy Drink so generously donated for the event and Chick-Fil-A, who will be serving food. Twenty percent of the proceeds from Chic-Fil-A sales will go to our benefit so come hungry!!

We hope to see many of your faces in support of Tim and Mr. Miller's battle. And also, Tim will be turning twenty-one only three days after this concert and we know how much it would mean to him to spend time with his closest friends and family during that weekend!

THANK YOU!
DNA ENERGY DRINK and CHICK-FIL-A!
FOR BECOMING CORPORATE SPONSORS!

Click on the button below to VOLUNTEER to help with various tasks that need to be done before, during and after this event. We thank you in advance for your time and your talent.

DAVID QUILES and CITY OF DAVID
http://www.myspace.com/cityofdavid

David makes a powerful witness to what God can do in people's lives. If you want to watch our worship team in action, go to our Ministries page and click on the worship section, then click the link to watch the video."

NATHAN TAYLOR

http://www.nugenworship.com/

I am part of a generation that says: "We will boldly and unashamedly worship God." That says: "We will not stop until His Glory fills the whole earth." I am part of a generation the will Rise Up with Healing in our hands. We are a new generation of Worshipers.

If there is a singular theme we hear of when people first listen to Nathan it is this, that Nathan is a “David” to his own generation! Nathan's music soothes the soul. He has a fresh sound that is inspired by a deep relationship with God.

Nathan is currently thirteen years old. He taught himself to play guitar at nine years old so that he could praise God anytime and anywhere.

Now four years later, he has a catalog of over 60 songs. He has been blessed to share his gift throughout south Florida this past year and most recently, he got to meet and open for Sanctus Real at RockeTown Florida in Pompano Beach. He is currently rated number two on the local charts on ReverbNation in the Contemporary Christian, Worship and Praise genre!

He has a deep desire to reach his generation with the knowledge and love of Christ. He wants to see a new generation . . . his generation, rise up to the call of God. He feels called by God to build bridges and break barriers multi-culturally and multi-denominationally bringing a message of salvation to all of the nations of the world with the music and ministry that God has him. Through today's technology, it is much easier to reach out to others. With social networks like Facebook, he has been able to connect with fans in places he would never have dreamed of like S. Africa, Australia, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

He gives all the credit to God for his talent and musical ability, and has been a follower of Christ his whole life, understanding that his music is inspired by God to please Him and be a witness for Him.

On an adventurous side, he loves the outdoors, making trips almost every year to camp, hike, rock climb and go white water rafting.

His favorite sport is soccer. He also loves to collect special memorabilia like rocks, coins, swords and guitars . . . MOST ESPECIALLY his Taylor guitar!
